Pondless Waterfalls

Aug 12, 2023 | Design Trends, Landscaping

Pondless waterfalls are a type of water feature that mimics the look and sound of a traditional waterfall, but without the need for a pond.

Instead, water is collected in a basin below the rocks or stones that make up the waterfall and is then recirculated back up to the top of the waterfall.

There are several advantages of pondless waterfalls. They require less maintenance and are easier to install than traditional pond-based waterfalls. They are also a great option to add tranquility and beauty in smaller spaces, or areas where a pond may not be desired. They are also safe with small children and animals, as there is no pond for them to fall into. There is no skimmer or filtration system because there is no standing water, it is constantly moving, and therefore not a mosquito attraction. You can choose when to run it as there is no ecosystem involved. You will need to replenish the water, but if you have an irrigation system, you can add water using your regular schedule.

Pondless waterfalls can be customized with different types of rocks, plants, and lighting options to create a unique and attractive feature in your outdoor space. They can also be easily expanded or modified to fit your specific landscape design.
